Additional Treatment Resources Serving Clients From The Berkshires to Boston

Additional Treatment Resources

Non-Mandated Wellness Resources

Courts may mandate reeducation and treatment courses under the alternative 24D Program, which educates eligible first-time OUI or second-time OUI offenders to the dangers of driving under the influence. This alternative program is an excellent opportunity for those with an otherwise spotless record to get back on track.

Voluntary participation in a treatment program is a very effective tool for your defense in many cases, even if this is your first OUI offense. Many clients wonder and ask if involvement in these types of programs can be used against them. Participation in these programs is not an admission of guilt and demonstrates your commitment to stay healthy and safe. Keep in mind that participation in any recovery program can assist in your defense in many different ways. We have utilized voluntary participation and such programs with the probation department, judges, prosecutors as well as the Registry of Motor Vehicles. For those who would like to explore other options for treatment, below is a list of resources:

Treatment and Recovery Resources

Below is a list of treatment and recovery resources, including step programs and community based groups:

  • Alcoholics Anonymous is a well-known and highly regarded self-supporting 12-step program. Members provide advice, guidance and support to one another. This is a free program with meetings widely available online and in person.

  • Narcotics Anonymous is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. Meetings are available online and in person.

  • Recovery Dharma is a newer, but growing program of recovery from addiction using Buddhist practices and principles. The program is based on the idea that everyone is their own guide in recovery from addiction, with the help and understanding of our wise friends and community. Meetings are available online and in person.

Meetings are available online and in person.

  • Nar-Anon is a program for those who know or have known a feeling of desperation concerning the addiction problem of someone very near to you. The members provide support as they can understand your problem as few others could. The program believes that no situation is too difficult and no unhappiness is too great to be overcome. Meetings are available online and in person.

  • Smart Family & Friends Meetings is a program that provides concerned significant others, family and friends the tools they need to effectively support their loved one, without supporting the addictive behavior. The methods are based on the tools of SMART Recovery and CRAFT Therapy (Community Reinforcement & Family Training). Meetings are available online and in person.
